Process Overview*

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision expect banks to implement a strong governance framework, risk data architecture and IT infrastructure as preconditions to ensure adherence with each of the BCBS 239 Principles.  Banks must develop and maintain strong risk data aggregation capabilities to ensure that RDA Reports reflect the risks in reliable way.  

The Risk Data Aggregation (RDA) processes includes defining, gathering, and processing of risk data and reports during both business-as-usual and stress/crisis environments to enable Bank of America’s Board of Directors and senior management to manage risk well and measure its performance against its risk tolerance and risk appetite as defined within Bank of America’s Risk Framework.

Job Description*

An ideal candidate for RDA project is expected to ensure the data lineage, controls, and transformations supporting Critical Risk Figures are documented as per the Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting - Enterprise Policy. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive data lineage documentation, enabling stakeholders to trace data from source to consumption.

Responsibilities*

•     Data Lineage Documentation: Identify and map the flow of data across reporting templates and dashboards, capturing its origin, transformations and end usage.

•     Data Governance Support: Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure that data lineage is in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

•     Collaboration with IT & Business Teams: Work with IT and business units to identify key data sources, transformation rules and usage patterns.

•     Regulatory and Audit Support: Provide detailed data lineage reports to support audits and regulatory compliance requests, ensuring transparency and traceability.

•     Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance data lineage processes, staying up-to-date with new technologies, tools, and best practices.

•     Metadata Management: Collaborate with metadata management teams to ensure that data lineage information is properly integrated into enterprise metadata repositories.

Requirements*

  • Education -MBA from top tier college, Bachelors/Masters degree in Financial.
  • Certification if Any - Data governance or data management is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience Range - 2 – 7 years.

Foundational skills*

  • Technical business writing (BRD/FRD)                                   
  • Strong understanding of data management, data flow, and data governance principles.
  • Familiarity with data architecture, database management, SQL and ETL processes.
  • Proficient in intermediate-level Excel functions, including nested formulas, conditional logic, lookups, and data aggregation techniques.
  • Experience in working with data models, pivot tables, and managing large datasets in Excel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex Excel formulas and ensure data accuracy.

Desired skills*

  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple high priority deliverables simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of regulatory data compliance requirements
  • Experience with regulatory reporting, regulatory exams, and/or audit

The Client Onboard Analyst 1 is a trainee professional role. Responsibilities:

  • Processes client’s requests related to system set up including signatories’ updates and documentation lodgment.
  • Co-operates with internal partners to perform systems maintenance based on documentation related to account opening and maintenance processes.

Function Description

  • Card & Merchant Accounting and Controls (CMAC) team in Global Financial Operations, Controllership, manages the foundational accounting for Card Member spend, Remittances and Merchant payments along with various other operational accounting processes that is core to a Credit Card domain.
  • This team is the last line of defense and liaisons with broader controllership, technology / product, and Global Service Group (GSG) / servicing teams to ensure correct Card Member allocations and financial integrity is embedded in the end-to-end process.

How will you make an impact in this role?

This B28 role will be primarily responsible for managing E2E accounting and research and clearance processes for Card Member Credit Balance Refund ledgers, Governance of Balance sheet accounts (specifically Bank and suspense accounts ensuring all accounting (upstream system/manual) is processed timely and accurately across APAC & EMEA Markets. Incumbent will also be responsible to maintain financial integrity through timely reporting of process metrics, inputs related to trending variances, static and unnatural balances, customer queries and status of process improvement driven by upstream/downstream automation and improvements.

  • Responsible for maintaining financial integrity of the APAC & EMEA Card Member Credit Balance Refund process.
  • Be able to gain detailed understanding of end to end accounting, inputs, processes, controls, process flows, metrics, risks, SLAs and output of the process
  • Work closely with business partners (Servicing teams within GPS & CFN) to clear the daily/monthly financial transactions, drive process efficiency and proactively highlight any exposure
  • Be able to proactively highlight, communicate and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor the trending of the Balance Sheet accounts managed and work with different stakeholders to identify and fix the RCA
  • Ability to drive self and team goals with continuous focus on process improvement.
  • Demonstrate effective proactiveness, transformational mindset as well as strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to support enterprise goals.
  • Effectively coordinate with technology for development / automation opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

  • B. Com with 2-4 years or CA/MBA/Post Graduate with 0-2 years of work experience
  • Good knowledge of AR Platforms – Globestar, CARE, MARS, Payable Systems – Oracle SL, Mercury, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Business Intelligence and other data applications like Cornerstone, main frame systems is a plus
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Well-developed analytical skills, ability to understand the linkages to processes.
  • Good Accounting knowledge.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills needed to create, develop and communicate with diverse stakeholders.
